Request a Memories export

Snapchat builds the ZIP on accounts.snapchat.com. You sign in there.

Screenshots of that site are not included. The page asks for your Snapchat login.

Memories-only export

These clicks are the Memories section of Snapchat’s help article:

1. Log in at accounts.snapchat.com. In the app, open Settings and select My Data.
2. Click My Data.
3. Under Select data to include, turn Export your Memories on.
4. Click Request Only Memories.
5. Select the date range. Snapchat says longer ranges take more time.
6. Confirm the email address for the notification.
7. Click Submit.
8. Wait for the email, or open My Data and choose See exports, then Download.

Snapchat says they aim to deliver the data within 7 days, and that large downloads can take longer.

After the ZIP is on your computer

Snapchat’s article then says to unzip, open index.html, and download Memories from that page. That page is Snapchat’s viewer. The restore box does not open index.html and does not fetch those per-file links.

Keep the .zip file Snapchat gave you. If My Data lists more than one ZIP, download every one of them. The next page is dropping those files in the restore box.
