How to download Snapchat Memories

Google’s AI overview is right about hop one: Snapchat only bulk-exports Memories through My Data. Hop two is the reason people keep searching — the ZIP is dated today. This page is both steps.

Step 1 — Request the official archive

Sign in at accounts.snapchat.com on a computer (or open Snapchat → Settings → My Data).
Click My Data. Under data to include, toggle Export your Memories (and JSON files if shown).
Submit. Snapchat emails a download link, often within an hour, sometimes up to a few days.
Download every ZIP. Large libraries split into mydata~ plus numbered parts. The JSON usually lives in the first archive.

That is the only supported bulk download. Browser extensions that promise “download all memories” by scraping the app are a different product and a ToS risk. We do not do that.

Step 2 — Fix dates before Google Photos

Open the restored ZIP from this site. Files are grouped by year/month with DateTimeOriginal (JPEGs) and QuickTime creation time (MP4s). GPS is copied from memories_history.json when Snapchat included a location.

If you import the raw My Data ZIP, Photos apps sort everything under the export day. That is the “wrong date” complaint, not a broken Snapchat account.

What you will see in the ZIP

Older exports put media in a memories/ folder. 2026-style exports ship -main photos/videos plus -overlay PNGs (sometimes nested in their own ZIP). Both layouts scan here. Overlay bake is Pro; dates on the first 15 photos are free.
