Related searches literally say “to computer.” The official portal is a desktop-friendly flow. Importing that ZIP straight into Photos on the same computer is how the dates go wrong — unless you rewrite metadata first.
Use a laptop for My Data
accounts.snapchat.com in a desktop browser is the least painful way to request and download multi-gigabyte ZIPs. Phones time out, and iOS will unpack archives into a Files mess.
Then restore in this same browser
You do not need a Windows .exe or a Python environment. Drop the ZIP, download snapchat-memories-with-dates-YYYY-MM-DD.zip, copy the Snapchat-Memories folder to a disk. File dates inside the ZIP are the capture times.
After that, camera roll or Google Photos
On iPhone, AirDrop or Files → Save to Photos. On Android, copy to DCIM or use Google Photos backup from the folder. See the camera-roll and Google Photos pages if the years still look wrong — that usually means you imported the unrestored ZIP.
