No Snapchat export yet? How to get one, and a sample to try

The tool needs the Memories ZIP from Snapchat. You request it once:

  1. Sign in at accounts.snapchat.com and open My Data.
  2. Under Select data to include, turn on Export your Memories (add the JSON files if Snapchat offers them), pick the date range, confirm your email, then submit.
  3. Snapchat emails you when the ZIP is ready. Download every ZIP part.
  4. Come back here and drop them. Nothing leaves your browser.

Snapchat says it aims to deliver within 7 days; big accounts can take longer.

What Snapchat is charging for

The Help Center page How do I manage my Memories storage? is the live rule: complimentary storage up to 5GB, then upgrade paths in the app. Snapchat deleting memories 2026 quotes the thumbnail section. My Data is still free, and it is not a storage plan.

A ZIP is not a storage plan

The tool on this page reads a Memories ZIP you already downloaded. It does not log into Snapchat and it does not add cloud space inside the app.

Download before January 2027

Request My Data now. Download every part. Restore. Back up the dated folder somewhere you control. Then decide on Snap’s storage plan if you still want the in-app shelf. Nothing is archived before January 2027. The search “when is Snap deleting memories” is When is Snap deleting memories?. That restore is the download tool.

Removing Snaps inside the app, after that copy exists, is How to delete Snapchat Memories in bulk.

How to see how much storage on Snapchat

  1. In My Account, tap the gear icon to open Settings.
  2. Scroll down to My App.
  3. Tap Memories and check under Cloud Storage.

That path is on How do I manage my Memories storage?. “How to check Snapchat Memories storage” is the same screen. If you are over the free allowance, the Memories section also shows a notice with how much you have used.
